Our core values communicate the heart of the culture we strive to create at River of Life.
- Commitment to the glory of God: all things are ultimately for Him.
- Creating a culture of intimacy with God and love toward Him, expressed in obedience.
- Being led and empowered by the Holy Spirit. All the gifts and ministries of the Holy Spirit available in the Bible are available to and working in God's people today.
- Promoting unity and cooperation among local fellowships of like faith.
- Leadership that equips rather than controls.
- The Ephesians 4 five-fold ministry leadership gifts of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers all function in both vocational ministry and marketplace ministry domains, working collaboratively to equip God's people for ministry, spiritual maturity, and service. God gives ministries to both men and women through the Holy Spirit for the benefit of the body of Christ.
- Discipleship: the character, ways, and mission of Jesus Christ were to be taught and passed on through relational discipleship. In Jesus’ model, he selected men and women to whom He invested His life, His work, and the Kingdom to. It is our joy, passion, and desire to continue what Jesus began thousands of years ago. We are to make disciples who make disciples; we are to go to the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey the commands of Jesus.
- Training, sending, praying for, and financially supporting workers to fulfill the Great Commission.
- The Bible as the inspired Word of God, foundational to all teaching and central to our corporate existence.
- Healing for the body, soul, spirit, and reconciliation in relationships.
- Ministry that builds healthy marriages and families and provides grace and support for those in crisis. This includes developing a healthy and biblical view of sexuality and identity. It also includes championing those who are single as those who can live a fully satisfied and emotionally healthy life in Christ.
- Integrity in financial stewardship.
- Christian service that promotes the Gospel of Christ and meets real needs in the greater community.
- Christian community that includes people of all races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- We value intergenerational dialogue and collaboration in a culture of friendship, honor, respect, interdependence, and love.
- We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Psalm 139.)
