1 John - Part 01

At the time of John's writing of this letter, the Church was made up of a dwindling number of first generation Christians who had experienced Jesus in person. It contained increasing numbers of 2nd and 3rd generation Christians who had believed after hearing about Jesus subsequent to His death and resurrection. Some critical errors about the nature of Jesus had crept into their theology, and John, being one of the few living first-hand witnesses of Jesus at the time, wanted to set the record straight concerning who Jesus was in this opening paragraph of his letter. it is still vitally important today that we understand the truth about who Jesus was and is.
